Jimmy O’Connor, employed in a gambling establishment, is so honest that he is offered a banking job at any time; and for his sake, Scotty, his protegé and pal, decides to go straight. The boys go fifty-fifty in everything until Scotty falls in love with Diana, who operates a shooting booth at Coney Island. Jimmy declares that he disapproves of all women–except his mother–and Scotty despairs until he schemes to have Jimmy meet Jeanne, Diana’s girl friend. (AFI Catalog)
Just Another Blonde was produced by Al Rockett Productions and distributed by First National Pictures, Inc. The six-reel feature (5,603 ft. / 1,707 m.) premiered in New York on 19 December 1926. The only known remaining motion picture elements for the film are a 35mm tinted nitrate print of the trailer and 35mm portions of five reels of the feature. Both the trailer and the remains of the feature are preserved in the collection of The Packard Humanities Institute collection at the UCLA Film and Television Archive. In 19xx, the then-extant nitrate reels (reels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6) of the feature were duplicated for preservation. Since that time, nitrate deposition entirely consumed reels 4 and 5, as well as portions of reels 1, 2, and 3.
This restoration combines the surviving nitrate portions with the 35mm preservation duplicate to present the most complete version of the film possible. All film elements were scanned at 4K resolution. Digital image restoration limited to dust and scratch removal and individual frame repair. These restorations were completed in August 2025 by the San Francisco Film Preserve in conjunction with The Packard Humanities Institute and the UCLA Film and Television Archive.
