Unbeknownst to her put-upon parents, Baby Peggy swaps lives with a rich little girl! Both kids have lots of fun between weddings and mud-pits, until the grown ups try to intervene.
This restoration of A Muddy Bride is based on the combination of two unique original sources: a 35mm tinted nitrate print in the collection of Cinémathèque suisse with dual-language French/German titles, and a 35mm tinted nitrate print with Dutch titles in the collection of Eye Filmmuseum. Digital image restoration tools were used to reduce the appearance of physical damage that accumulated over the life of the original materials. New English language titles have been created based on translation of the French, German, and Dutch versions in the source prints. These new titles are created in the style and design consistent with other Century Comedies of the time. The restoration was completed in October 2023 by the San Francisco Silent Film Festival in cooperation with the Cinémathèque suisse, Eye Filmmuseum, and the Library of Congress, Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation.
