A selection of films from the 2025 edition of Le Giornate del Cinema Muto is online: from 4 to 11 October immerse yourself in the music and images of the world’s leading silent film festival. The events of Giornate 44 available via streaming this year include SFFP’s restoration of Maurice Tourneur’s stunning The White Heather. The films features a young John Gilbert (still credited as Jack!), gorgeous pastoral scenes, and an underwater fight scene you won’t want to miss!
This film was restored by SFFP in collaboration with Eye Filmmuseum and San Francisco Silent Film Festival. The restoration was made possible through the generous support of the National Film Preservation Foundation.
